Realiza-se na próxima semana, entre 13 e 15 de setembro de 2022, a “I International Conference on Child Studies” (ICCS) sob o tema “Researching children’s worlds and lived realities in uncertain times”. O Centro de Investigação em Estudos da Criança (CIEC) organiza o evento em conjunto com o “Centre for the Study of Children and Childhood” da University de Suffolk, do Reino Unido. A conferência decorrerá no Instituto de Educação da Universidade do Minho, sendo o último dia reservado à participação on-line.
O objetivo da conferência é problematizar visões universais, normativas, essencialistas e paternalistas da infância e dar visibilidade a trabalhos focados nas realidades vividas e nos mundos das crianças em tempos incertos.
Durante o evento será lançado o primeiro número da revista “Child Studies”, editada pelo CIEC.

The I International Conference on Child Studies (ICCS)will be held at the Institute of Education, University of Minho, on the 13th and 15th September 2022 under the theme “Researching children’s worlds and lived realities in uncertain times”. The event is co-organised by Research Centre on Child Studies (CIEC) from the University of Minho and the Centre for the Study of Children and Childhood from the University de Suffolk, UK. The event will include in-person sessions (13th and 14th September) and virtual sessions (15th September 2022).
The main goal of the conference is to problematise universal, normative, essentialist and paternalist views of childhood and to give visibility to work focusing on children’s worlds and lived realities in uncertain times.
The first issue of the journal “Child Studies” will be launched during the conference, edited by CIEC.
